On behalf of their Otter Tail Lakes Country Tourism Association, Alexa spent a weekend visiting their quirky country general store & Cornfield cafe, wandered through the stunning Maplewood State Park, experienced a small town parade & free corn fest in a town with a pop. of 107 people, and golfed on a locally-owned golf course where you can feel the pride of the ownership’s family on every green.

In a small rural community or tourism region, it can be a challenge to capture the vibrant moments of nostalgia in what can sometimes be considered mundane- The gas station the family always stops at on the way to the cabin. The cafe we have been going to since we were kids. The dive bar where everybody knows your name.
